Sue Read is a professional artist, born and working in Bude on the north coast of Cornwall. Sue captures the very essence of the sea and coast in her seascape and coastal paintings, the moving skies and the energy of waves and water that carries the very 'spirit of place ' Drawn to the edges of land of her native North Cornwall, Sue paints in mixed media layering the weather in vibrant colour with an immersive energy that invites you the viewer to dive into this stunning part of North Cornwall with it's rugged coastline.

Painting directly on the beach and coast her work displays a truly instinctive approach,. Finished in the studio, paintings have time to sit allowing for contemplation and refinement.
