Sue Read is a professional artist, born and working in Bude on the north coast of Cornwall. Drawn to the edges of land of her native North Cornwall, Sue paints in mixed media using dynamic brushwork. Layering colour, the weather and feeling of the unknown, her work evokes the immersive energy of the ocean, inviting viewers to dive into the dynamic, ever-changing tempo on this rugged coastline. Sue captures the very essence of the sea and coast in her seascape and coastal paintings. The moving skies and the energy of waves and water that carries the very 'spirit of place ' into her work.

Painting directly on the beach or coast for a truly instinctive approach, artworks are finished in the studio where there is time for contemplation and refinement.
