Started outside in situ when the summer was fading away but still warm enough to be sitting and painting.  There was always the threat of a shower but the sun also came through creating sharp contrast on the water and horizon. 

There is a lovely passage of transparent paint in the foreground to suggest the wet sand as the water recedes. 

Painted in acrylics and oils on stretched canvas and framed in a white tray frame. Finished with a soft UV satin varnish. '
